PROJECTS
Metro North Hollywood to Pasadena BRT Environmental Analysis
Impact Sciences prepared Air Quality, Noise, and GHG analysis for the North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit project for LA Metro. The proposed project includes dedicated bus lanes from North Hollywood to Pasadena. The project includes multiple configurations including curb-running lanes, side-running lanes alongside existing parking and bicycle facilities, and/or median-running lanes in the center of the roadway or alongside existing roadway medians. Due to the multiple potential configurations, the noise analysis had to be broken into segments to determine the potential for impacts. Further, other components of the project, such as bus shelters, were evaluated to determine impacts. For the Air Quality analysis, assumptions about fleet mix and energy sources were used to fine-tune the analysis. The technical reports were completed on a highly compressed schedule to ensure the team met Metro’s overall schedule for completion.
