1025 Howard Street Community Plan Exemption Checklist

Impact Sciences prepared a Community Plan Exemption (CPE) Checklist to evaluate whether the environmental impacts of the proposed project are addressed in the Programmatic Environmental Impact Report for the Eastern Neighborhoods Rezoning and Area Plans. The project proposed to demolish an existing building and construct a six- to eight-story, 173-room tourist hotel with ground floor retail space. The new building would front Howard and Harriet Streets. The portion of the proposed building fronting Howard Street, on the northern one-third of the project site, would be eight stories and 85 feet tall. The portion of the proposed building on the remainder of the project site would be six stories and 65 feet tall. The project would also include open space at grade along the southern portion of the site that is accessible from a ground floor guest room. Other open space would be located on level 7 and on a rooftop terrace.
